I was born and raised in Madurai, India. My husband and I moved to the United States in 2004. We are blessed with three children and have lived in three different states in the US. My interest in learning and teaching science, particularly, Chemistry comes from my own positive experience as a high school and graduate student who has had the opportunity of learning from exemplary teachers. 

Teaching is a rewarding experience and it provides an opportunity for continual learning and growth. This is my seventh year teaching at Bessemer City High School. I have two years of teaching experience outside of Bessemer as a middle/high school science teacher at private schools in Birmingham and 3 ½ years of teaching college-level chemistry in India.

Students have different levels of maturity, interest, and motivation toward learning, but I strongly believe that every student can learn. Students who participate actively learn better. My role as a teacher is to make sure that every student learns. It is the success of every student in my class that inspires me to teach science at Bessemer City High School. I strive to provide a warm and protective learning environment for all students.
