Bio

Hola! My name is Xiomara Blasco. I was born and raised in the beautiful South American country, Venezuela. My parents instilled in me and my siblings the love for reading, music and education. From a very young age I learned to play the guitar, Cuatro, mandolin, and recorder instruments. After graduating from High school I studied classical guitar under the direction of the renowned guitarist and composer Rodrigo Riera. To further my education I went to study in the Conservatory of music, at the same time I was a student in college getting a major in Biology education then a Master in Psychology of Education. Later in life I met my late husband John McLeod. I move to the US after our marriage 21 year ago. Here in the US I decided to further more my education by going back to school getting a Master in Secondary education. I have been working as a Spanish teacher since I move to the US in 2002 and I have been with the Bessemer City schools since 2008.
