Bessemer City High School is the only high school located in the city of Bessemer. School colors are purple and white and our athletic teams mascot is a tiger. BCHS competes in ASHAA Class 6A Athletics.
Bessemer City High School offers excellent academic classes and also houses The Bessemer Center for Technology. The school also participates in the dual enrollment program with Lawson State and The Ready to Work Program. The Ready to Work Program is a partnership between many companies across the Bessemer area. A few of the companies partnering with Bessemer City High School are AMAZON, Milo's, and Omni Staffing Co. Upon graduation our scholars are prepared for college and are career ready.
Bessemer City High School is composed of grades 9 - 12 with an enrollment of a little more than 1,100 students. Our school is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
