Bessemer City High School is a public school located in Bessemer, AL, in the Bessemer City School District.

At Bessemer City High School, we are committed to academic excellence and preparing our students for success. As the only high school in the city of Bessemer, BCHS is a cornerstone of our community, proudly representing our school colors of purple and white, with the tiger as our athletic mascot. We compete in ASHAA Class 6A athletics, striving for victory on and off the field.

Bessemer City High School offers a robust academic program and is home to The Bessemer Center for Technology. We also offer dual enrollment with Lawson State and participate in The Ready to Work Program, a partnership with key companies in the Bessemer area, including Amazon, Milo's, and Omni Staffing Co. These initiatives ensure that our graduates are both college-ready and equipped with the skills necessary for today’s job market.

Serving over 1,100 students in grades 9–12, BCHS is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. We provide a supportive environment where students are encouraged to reach their full potential and prepare for a bright future ahead.
