Biography
My name is Zeinab Zoghaib, and I am originally from Lebanon. Nine years, I made the life-changing decision to move to the United States, where I now live in Hoover, Alabama, with my wonderful husband and two beautiful daughters, Sandy and Nancy.
Growing up, I attended the Lebanese University School of Sciences with the ambition of becoming a pharmacist. However, in a country where political control heavily influences education, my dream of becoming a pharmacist was not realized. I adapted by completing my undergraduate degree in chemistry and attending the school of education, where I found my true calling in teaching.
Upon moving to the United States, getting back on track professionally was challenging. Despite these challenges, I pursued and obtained a certificate in teaching high school science, which allowed me to continue my passion for education. I now teach Human Anatomy and Physiology and Environmental classes at Bessemer City High School. Additionally, I had earned my Master of Education in Biological Sciences from the University of West Alabama and now pursuing a Specialist degree in Teacher Leadership to further strengthening my knowledge and skills as an educator.
Teaching is my passion, and I am genuinely enthusiastic about working with my students and building strong relationships with them and their parents. I believe that the well-being and education of my students are my top priorities, and I strive to create a positive and supportive learning environment for them. This year marks my fourth year teaching Environmental Science, and despite the challenges of starting school virtually, I am excited and ready to tackle these obstacles. I am committed to helping my students appreciate the importance of our planet, understand the shared resources, and develop plans to address the challenges facing our environment and ecosystems.
Beyond the classroom, I am a proud member of UVGI, United Voices Global Impact, an organization dedicated to empowering underserved and marginalized communities worldwide. UVGI transforms lives by educating and raising awareness, empowering women and girls to reach their full potential, and amplifying voices that often go unheard. Through this organization, I am involved in promoting health and well-being through prevention and advocacy, mentoring youth, supporting humanitarian efforts for those in greatest need, fostering sustainable development, and engaging proactively with communities.
As I continue my journey as an educator and advocate, I am excited about the opportunities ahead and remain committed to making a positive impact on the lives of my students and the broader community.
